Basil (Spud) Murphy
Basil (Spud) Murphy is Hyperbaric Technical Co-ordinator at the Navy Hospital's Hyperbaric Unit. Previously he was a Navy Diver, and held the rank of Warrant Officer Diving Instructor.
A Grade 1 Hyperbaric Technician, Basil is also qualified in the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS) as a Part 4, Diver, Dive Supervisor and Dive Trainer. He is an accredited Scuba Diver International (SDI) Scuba Instructor and a National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) accredited Course Director.
He is the New Zealand Point of Contact (NZ POC) for the Divers Alert Network South East Asia Pacific (DAN SEAP); he is also a DAN Oxygen Provider Instructor and Instructor Trainer.
